This episode is specifically meant to follow a 'nostalgic path' and is laid out reminiscent of the classic discovery channel documentaries I grew up with. I was blessed to be given permission to use Mr. Michael Whalen's incredible score to accentuate my videos. This episode will focus on the Testimonies of some of Titanic's survivors, and draw attention to specific parts of the wreck (where applicable) in accordance with Titanic's story as we are told it by her survivors. Storied Treasure's first major video about the U.S.S. S-37 (SS 142) The S-37 was a Holland-type 'S-boat' class of submarine. She was Launched on June 20th, 1919, and commissioned into the United States Navy on July 16th, 1923. This submarine led a very active life in the United States Asiatic Fleet from the time of her commissioning until she was transferred to training duties on the West coast. Following the Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on December the 7th, 1941, the aging sub was sent out on patrol immediately to report back on the Imperial Japanese navy shipping and troop movements in the Philippine Islands. Despite her old age and lack of mobility, she proved herself a true fighter, when she boldly attacked a column of Japanese destroyers in February 1942. Ultimately sinking the IJN NATSUSHIO, and thus earning her place in naval history for the first-ever Japanese destroyer kill of World War II, an achievement that remains one of the most daring accomplishments by any submarine commander. In 1945, the sub was stricken from the Navy List and was lost on her way to being sunk for target practice. Following her discovery and partial salvage in the late 1950s, the sub remains today a forgotten and often neglected dive site due to the dangerous conditions on-site and the overall nature of the wreck. The debut video of our upcoming mini-exploration series called "Shipwreck Stories & Tales" Episode 1: H.M.C.S YUKON The H.M.C.S Yukon was a Mackenzie-class destroyer that served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1973 till 1993 when she was decommissioned. Following her purchase by the San Diego Oceans Foundation, she was scuttled in 2000 off the San Diego coast to become an artificial reef. This episode will have a short overview of the Yukon, and then some HD dive video of the Yukon as she appears today. This is my first 'Audiobook' or rather 'READ ALONG' for the antique book "The Last Voyage of His Majesty's Hospital Ship Britannic' by Rev. John A. Fleming. This man, one of several clergymen aboard the ill-fated hospital ship, provides us with a unique look at the spiritual life abord the Britannic. Also giving us wonderful insight into the ship, and its final hour afloat. I hope that this please some of my fellow Christian History Lovers & Ship Enthusiasts alike! One of our first dives using the ROV we explore the wreck of an unknown shipwreck dubbed "The Rigger' believed to be a crane barge that was sunk in the 60's or 70's. A small porcelain bowl was recovered stamped "Made in Usa" but no marks or logo to identify the wreck were found.
